The post i should have posted before 2010

It’s 11 January already. I was so hectic with my job and life last year. I don't have much time to do my personal things which I am kinda upset. Well, I finally have my guts to tender my resignation letter. So my last day of duty will be on the 7th of February 2010. ooooo... can't wait for it. Then I am off for my holidays.... my free time ...

I have always wanted to try Bubba Gump like for years. Saw it in Bali and Miami but didn't have the time for it. What's worse it seems that Bubba Gump is only located in PJ area. I live in KL. Travelling to PJ is a super lazy thingy for me and yet my time is too absurd for me to travel. You don;t want to know why.

So after the delay. the excuses, Kent and I push ourselves to Sunway for Bubba Gump. Not much of varieties compare to Chilis, Tony Romas or TGI. I kinda like the Risoto not sure the name but I like it. Will definitely order if I am free to drive back there with out the traffic craziness.

Then came New Year. It wasn’t jam at all in The Golden Triangle. Weird eh? It’s only pack with humans but not cars. The roads are much smoother than usual. Reach Bukit Bintang in 10 minutes from Cheras!

What about my year 2009?

Positively, I am happy that I am a year older, safe and sound as I am still alive and by all means I am still growing horizontally. Hahaha Yes another year wasted of nothing being accomplished. I am soon stepping into the eerie 30. Ouch! Time truly flies awfully fast. In a blink of an eye NO! NO! Few extra blinks of an eye a day passed then weeks, months and years.

I am not a mom yet. I am up to no obligation or anything so far. I love my mere life. I doubt why I don’t have such plan or resolution ahead?

Facing ups and downs are the nature of life. Well we do get rain and storm sometimes don’t we? Nothing is perfectly arranged or decided. So what is life?

My grandma passed away a month ago while great 4th grand uncle passed away early of this month, dad’s favorite uncle cause of death, internal bleeding. What shaken me was we had dinner a month ago discussing and arranging a trip to Sabah next year. A healthy man who took precaution of his food intake in every single meal died due to internal bleeding. Life is funny aint it? And all this while he thought he might die of stroke or heart attack! Grandma died in MRI machine and who knows how many dose of sedative was she jabbed with? Another funny and sad story isn’t it?

Let’s go to the good news. Let by gone be by gone. I don’t want my tears starts to roll.

I miss and love being with my family. I am glad that dad and brothers got the time to stop by for family reunion yesterday. I love the warmth feeling with the whole family. One word to describe it AWESOME! Being together in the family is truly an indescribable feeling. Their thoughts of care and love really give you the strength and encouragement to live in this humanity. You know when you get the feeling of an awful day or when you want to like just shut your self? This is where and when the family steps in and gives you the wisdom word of love. Chinese New year was the best part ever this year. Family flies over from KK, KL and Penang just for the reunion. Chinese New Year was never this merry in Tawau!

Early of the year, I participated in Air Asia’s fly to Australia contest. Well I didn’t manage to win even though I did collect the full sets of token. Some idiots won.*Sigh*. What I like most about the contest is the unity among my friends and family. We took care of each other by bartering and sharing our tokens every day, every 3 hours per day. We care for each other worrying who has got the least token and trying our best to get even. I love to thank those who simply registered just for me for the sake of getting me a token. That was at the early of this year, by early of November, I was told as the winner of Krispy Kreme’s contest. Again without the voters vote, I might not be the winner. Thanks to the supporters again. At least this is one of the happiest highlight of the year 2009. I am still waiting eagerly for their public announcement for the winners in early of next Jan. A week ago I got a second place in a History Channel Contest and got my self a set of DK travelers. So kinda not bad la.

I got my self a tattoo which I am swollen with pride of and well I can only admire it in front of the mirror. Well I guess I won’t have the possibility to hate my tattoo then since it is somewhere secluded. Yes dad knows about it. Hiding from him makes me guilty so dad has got to know to ease my guiltiness. I know I am mischievous.

Pedro has finally got his “license” to sleep in the bedroom with Kent and me. He has passed his toilet train. Pedro loves to wake Kent up in the wee morning for his early pee pee which is kinda annoying.

That is what my mere life is about. I do find my 2009 life is much more solemn than the years before. I am neither country nor politics. I ain’t no celebrity I ain’t no Tiger Woods. I don’t plan to adopt babies from other countries. I don’t get no awards in front of the stage. I won’t shave my head like Britney. I got no concert to cancel or sex tape to pass around. And there goes another year of my mere life …

Life is way too short not to celebrate it. Live like your dying everyday. You will know what I mean. Wishing you guys HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010! Best Wishes and Lots of Luck!

Shabu One

Great news for supper kaki and steamboat lovers. Shabu One now in the midst of promotion till 31 Dec 2009. Buy a member card and the whole group of ‘makaners’ get a discounted price at RM16.80++ per person. Not sure bout the shop’s opening hour but it closes at 1 am. Their last call is at 12 am.

They have various types of mollusks, Taiwanese dishes, noodles, fish balls (various filling), desserts, etc.. the thing is they only serve chinese tea for beverage. So check out with your bff out there.

Off day

Twice a month I get me day off work. Do I appreciate my day off? Definitely! I am chasing my time actually. There are so much to do within 24 hours.  I wana eat , shop , massage, facial, spa.. at the end non of these chores ever been done.

Due to my stupid on and off flu which has been prolonging a week, I took my day off real slow.  The night before me day off, I did some house chores, cleaning, mopping, dusting, laundry till 3 am in the morning. My house has never been that clean, since I started to work in this company. No spare time to bath or groom my pets, all i do was daily thorough sweep and mop on the floor. No meticulous cleaning till I have spare time.

The house next door were doing their refurbishment. Disturbed my  sleep so I woke up at 12 pm. Again another round of laundry  did a bit of cleaning of this and that. Woke sis up drag her to KLCC to have Chili’s. Fulamak'.. once I drove out Sg Besi, I felt like fainting. My flu , the bumper to bumper traffic jam is killing me. Road block and shit..

Lunch was not too bad. We sat at the bar had Fajitas and Pina Chilada then wander around I bought me self a camera and I redeemed my 2010 Starbucks planner which I have been longing. You think I have great day ? You haven’t heard of my second half day then.

4.30 pm. Out side KLCC , cars are crawling again I was was stuck in the jam.  Due to PC fair, many geeks are like carrying their fine new lap tops on their shoulder showing off awhile ago in KLCC.

I thought I was going to take hours to reach home by then. Took a short cut and reached home within 20minutes. Am I lucky or what? As i reached home, Kent and I has all set to go to Pavillion. We had dinner in Ichi Ban Boshi. The best thing was I get to get free foods from the redeemed coupon which we have been stamping for so long. We were kinda excited about the food. One set of bento with soups and green tea ice cream. A box of terriyaki chicken, california rolls, and more. And I have that for breakfast this morning.

So we wander around, in Pavillion took some pictures waited for the Adidas countdown to collect some goodie bags at the main entrance. Free Cola for launching the new Adidas football for the coming World Cup. Oh I did to catch a glimpse of Henry Golding and Phat Phabes at the Puma new product launching. Henry is so gorgeous! I didn stay for the after party. Kent and I head back home. Have to sleep kau kau  for the very next day ….. I just hate going to work.

 

Rest In Peace Grandma

It was a devastated week. Grandma was scheduled to have her MRI scan on the 18th of November 2009 Wednesday due to her frequent headache and giddiness. At first doctor only claimed that it was her ear infection that drives her to dizziness and nausea. After weeks and months of antibiotic consumption, there were no melioration. Her health deteriorate drastically day by day.

She was pronounced dead in between her MRI scan. It was a shocking news! I was told she was fine and she is at her hunky-dory state. She even asked the doc’s permission for discharge before she was pushed into the MRI room. So what really happened inside there? I heard she was given sedative as grandma claimed she was too cold to continue with her scan which is only 15 minutes left to finished the whole process. Sedative given to cold and weak patient? MRI rooms are cold bloody idiots ! Doc and nurse, lab assistant came out quietly and pronounced the time of her death.

It was truly awful. Nothing can be done but heart filled with anxiety and doubtfulness. It sounded like murder.

Flash back  of grandma keeps popping in my head.

- Our phone conversation.

- She at our home in Sabah taking care of mom when mom was bedridden.

- Taking care of us when we were young.

- The look of her happy face when we tell her some nasty jokes.

- Her delicious Kopi O breakfast and “yau char kaui”.

- She in her sarong.

There is too much to mention about her. She was one strong loving lady. Her high pitch of her voice always got people confused that she was angry. She was never mad at us. We were never got bawled out too. All she wants was her family members love and care. She hopes for her children and grandchildren to return and visit her often. That was the only thing she hopes and wants all along. Money don’t buy her happiness. She only wants to talk and meet us! But non of us took it seriously and we have took her and second aunt for granted. I regretted for not visiting her often.

Bye and sorry grandma! May her soul rest in peace.

 

 

Lets talk about my Friday 6th.

I was actually flying off to Yogyakarta, Indonesia for 4 days 3 nights via Singapore last Friday which was on the 6th. After planning for months Sharon and I decided to postponed this trip as we were kinda worry about earthquake and tsunami.

So the air tickets were burnt and well I stay at home catching some Z's. It was my off day. Sleeping the whole day is what I love best.

My phone rang during my best slumber, ‘ Hello, is this Khor……? I am calling from Krispy Kreme. You have been selected as the winner in the Fave Fan Contest”

I was so awake and excited. I was asked  to sign a document which the organizer sent to me via email and has to revert to her back asap as she needs to send back to the US. Can you imagine if I am in Yogya that day ? WIll I be selected as the winner? I am sure my phone will be in OFF mode if I am in a foreign country.

Well little that I know, my cancelled plan has saved me to another trip of USA. Am I lucky or what? Thanks a lot to my family and friends who have support and vote me to become the winner. Ever vote does count!

International Dog Show in Impact Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok

I own 3 dogs and a cat. They are like my kids. 3 boys and a girl. A happy mom indeed. When I was away in Bangkok my pets will be sent to Pet Hotel.

While away, like a mom, I miss my fur kids. The feeling of not having them beside me or while at home is simply lonely. When I return home the first thing they do is they bark and lick my face wanting me to carry them and pat them on their head. The feeling of warmth to be at home. What I love most about them is they wag their tails simultaneously waiting for me to pat them when I return home. They are so cute!

 

So to prevent my self from missing my fur kids, I usually will linger in Bangkok’s pet shop,  shop for foods and dogs clothing for my fur kids. What I love best is able to attend one of South East Asia’s International Dog Show in Impact, Bangkok. Its a shame that I was unable to attend one in 2009. I was browsing thru some of the old pictures and made me want to share the pictures of the cute critters that I saw  a year ago.
